Your Monthly Hot Dog Update

Last night we ventured Downtown. You know how when a girl has a birthday it tends to last for several days, sometimes weeks? Well, this was one of those things. Remember the Giada post? This was the continuation. I’m not complaining, just pointing out the obvious.
We got a group of friends together for this monthly event at The Container Park called Open Container. Genius right? Basically they close off a section of the park for us “adults” to indulge in 4oz beer tastings. It was a good time but after 2+ hours of binge drinking you get a little hungry. Remember how I tend to profess my love for Hot Dogs every other post? This was another one of those times.
Cheffinis Hot Dogs.
A little container restaurant serving noting but quality tubed meats. And they’re doing it well let me tell you. As I was saying, I had a few beers in me so I schmoozed with the counter girl and inquired about he ins and outs of the menu. After much deliberation and several follow up questions it was decided. The Grandfather.
This is not your typical hot dog. This is THE hot dog. The Dog father if you will, and it is a behemoth. This thing is made up of grilled frank, pork belly, red bell peppers, caramelized onions, crushed potato chips, spicy mayo, basil aioli, pickle mango, topped with a fried quail egg. I told you. This thing was insane and my drunken appetite was ready for it. I gobbled it down with the best sweet potato fries of my life and called it a night. It was everything. Even with all those ingredients it wasn’t too much, it was perfection.
