Chicken Shack
If you’re reading this, it’s too late. This Chicken Shack from Shake Shack has taken over the world. The Godzilla of the chicken sandwich market if you will, much like the company who makes it. Taking over the world one location (and stomach) at a time.
If you’ve read previous posts on the sub par food blog you may have noticed about a year ago I was one of the first to indulge in the Shake Shack opening at the New York New York Casino on the strip. If you didn’t read about this, you can refer to the above sentence and save yourself years of therapy and about 20 minutes of read time on the post. Flashback to present, I was at it again. **Side note: this wasn’t my second rodeo, I’ve gone plenty in between however, this was the first with their newest item; The Chicken Shack.
The Chicken Shack is a “crispy all-natural and antibiotic-free chicken breast with lettuce, pickles and buttermilk herb mayo.” Or at least that’s what the website I copied and pasted from said but to me it is everything. Crispy and Chicken Shack go hand in hand. Once you get through the pillowy bun it’s the first thing you taste and hear. Simultaneously two senses have been appeased by a single bite. The buttermilk mayo and pickles are the perfect assist to an otherwise perfect sandwich. The Chicken is moist and juicy but doesn’t flack the breading or make it soggy. The bun is always chewy and soft enough to sleep on. I have to say as well that whomever they buy lettuce from deserves a raise. I have never seen a flimsy or pale piece of lettuce placed on top of a Shake Shack burger (or in this case chicken sandwich) in my life. I’m convinced it’s never happened.
It’s science.
